My Brilliant Friend at the National Theatre

Trailer

How we made the poster for My Brilliant Friend

Based on the celebrated novels by Elena Ferrante – published in over 50 countries – My Brilliant Friend is an epic story of love, violence, ambition and self-destruction.

First meeting on the dangerous streets of postwar Naples, friends Lila and Lenu experience turbulent social and political change. Even as life repeatedly tries to pull them in separate directions, they remain inextricably bound to one another.

Following a sold-out run at Rose Theatre Kingston, the acclaimed two-part adaptation is reworked for the Olivier stage, with Niamh Cusack and Catherine McCormack returning to play Lenu and Lila.

Playing at the National Theatre from 12 November. Find out more and buy tickets: https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/my-brilliant-friend
