Europa Editions UK is to work with Midas PR to launch the paperback of international sensation Fresh Water for Flowers by award-winning author Valérie Perrin in June.
Dubbed the ‘lockdown novel’ of Italy and also the overall number one bestselling title of the territory for 2020, this compelling and moving story about the caretaker of a cemetery and the relationships she builds with visitors and colleagues promises to capture the attention of all readers.
Fresh Water for Flowers, Perrin’s English language debut, has now sold over 1 million copies worldwide since publication in early 2020, has been translated into over 30 languages, and is a strong and steady seller in its key territories which include France, the US (Europa Editions US) and Italy, where it is published by Europa Editions UK’s parent company Edizioni E/O.
Caro Parodi, Sales and Marketing Manager at Europa, commented: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Gabriella Drinkald at Midas PR to re-launch this unforgettable story. Valérie’s writing is an undeniable and durable force, and we’re incredibly proud to publish her English language debut.”
Fiona Marsh, Associate Director at Midas PR, said of Fresh Water for Flowers: “I absolutely loved Valerie’s book. The last book I read which moved me as much was Where the Crawdads Sing. I had to get up at 6 am this morning to finish it because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened at the end.”
Backed by huge figures of international sales and translation rights, reader reviews, and an all- encompassing publicity and marketing campaign that includes digital advertising and exciting partnerships, Europa’s ambitions for this captivating story on human relationships are large and include making it a success that mirrors Elena Ferrante’s – one that doesn’t target readers of literary or translated fiction alone.
Fresh Water for Flowers will be published with a fresh, striking cover on June 3rd this year and will delight fans of Delia Owens and Jojo Moyes alike.
